Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a local director to register a company in Singapore?
Yes. ACRA requires every Singapore-incorporated company to have at least one director who is ordinarily resident in Singapore. We can arrange a nominee local director as part of your incorporation package.
When do I need to appoint a company secretary?
Within six months of incorporation, and the role cannot be left vacant or held by the sole director/shareholder of the company. We provide qualified corporate secretarial services from day one.
Does my company need to register for GST?
GST registration is compulsory once your taxable turnover exceeds S$1 million in a 12-month period, though voluntary registration is available earlier. We assess your position and handle registration and quarterly filing.
What tax exemptions are available to new Singapore companies?
Qualifying new companies can claim the Start-up Tax Exemption (SUTE) on the first three years of chargeable income, with all companies eligible for the Partial Tax Exemption (PTE) thereafter. We assess eligibility and prepare the claim as part of your tax filing.
Can you work with my existing Xero or QuickBooks file?
Yes. We work within your existing cloud accounting platform, whether that is Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online, so there is no disruptive migration required.
