Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a MISA license to set up a foreign-owned company in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Foreign investors need a license from the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) before registering a Commercial Registration (CR) with the Ministry of Commerce. We handle the full application on your behalf.
Does my company need to register for VAT?
VAT registration is compulsory once your taxable turnover exceeds the mandatory threshold set by ZATCA, with voluntary registration available earlier. We assess your position and handle registration and periodic filing.
What is Zakat and does it apply to my company?
Zakat is a religious levy applied to the Saudi/GCC-owned share of a company’s zakat base, while corporate income tax applies to the foreign-owned share. Most mixed-ownership entities file both. We assess your ownership structure and prepare the correct filings.
What is Nitaqat and how does it affect my business?
Nitaqat is Saudi Arabia’s Saudization program, which sets minimum quotas for Saudi national employees based on company size and sector. We monitor your quota status and help you stay compliant to avoid restrictions on work permits.
Can you work with my existing Xero or QuickBooks file?
Yes. We work within your existing cloud accounting platform, whether that is Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online, so there is no disruptive migration required.
